Top Tips After You Have Passed Your Driving Test

Number one is the fact that in the two years after you first pass your driving test, you are on probation and the quickest way to notch up those dreaded points is speeding. Any Magistrate will automatically give you three points for speeding and has the power to increase those points for any other factors he or she may consider to be relevant, such as a bald tyre. Any car you buy must therefore be in good order throughout, or you must be prepared to rectify any problems before you take to the road in it.
Plans to take driving tests closer to candidates

Driving test candidates could benefit from a more local service as the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) carries out a trial exploring a new approach to test delivery.
As well as using conventional driving test centres, DSA is looking at whether tests could also be delivered from other venues such as local authority buildings, hotels or leisure centres.
The trials will provide practical car tests in selected areas that no longer have a local test centre, but still have a significant demand for tests. The aim is to provide a service for the local community and ensure that candidates are able to take their test at convenient locations.
Road Safety Minister Mike Penning said:
“I want us to be more flexible and innovative in delivering driving tests to make sure that we are offering people the best service possible wherever they live.
“Our aim is to provide a more local service that is both convenient for candidates and cost effective.”
The trials are due to take place in seven locations across Britain: Ashford, Ayrshire, Dumbarton, Louth, Warrington, Wiltshire and one location in Wales that is still to be decided. The trials will be monitored to assess any impact on levels of customer service and the cost of delivery, as well as making sure the integrity of the test is maintained.
DSA will then decide whether the trials can be rolled out to other areas without a test centre where there is a significant demand, and where suitable routes and venues can be identified.
The trials will only involve practical car tests; theory test centres will not be affected.
Devina Passes her driving test in Reading, Berkshire

Devina recently contacted Blue, having previously taken four practical driving tests without success. Following an assessment and some further training with instructor, David Shephard, she has now successfully passed her test on her 1st attempt since starting lessons with Blue some 4 weeks ago.

Wow! I passed first time at Reading and only got 6 minors. My examiner, Nikki, was really nice & the test was over in no time at all. I did a reverse park and also had to do an emergency stop which went fine. Many thanks to David from Blue. He’s a really great instructor & was so patient & supportive throughout.

Just passed my test at Reading Im so happy! I got 7 minors & had to do a left reverse for my manoeuvre. The Independent driving section went fine & I was so relieved when I was told the end result. My Blue instructor, David, was really helpful & supportive in getting me prepared for the test. I’ll recommend him to all my friends.
Katie P Passes Her Driving Test

Katie who had driving lessons in Bracknell passed today with only four minor faults, Katie did think she had failed and was overjoyed to learn that she had passed her driving test First Time. Nick the driving examiner in Farnborough was very nice and put me at ease throughout the driving test. Thanks so much to Peter at BLue for all his great help.
Euan M From Bracknell Passes Driving Test

Euan M from Warfield, Bracknell passed his practical driving test today in Farnborough with Nick(Examiner) and got only Three minor faults and passed first time just like my mate Luke who also passed with Peter from Blue a few weeks ago. Kelly passed her Driving Test

Kelly C passed her driving test with Margaret a DSA Driving Examiner at Farnborough driving test centre with a few minor faults. Kelly started learning to drive many years ago but gave up and was really determined this time to complete her driving course. She was nervous as hell on her test day but found Margaret very reassuring, and Peter her driving instructor very calming. “I can now drive to work yippeeee”.
